Unit Name: Industrial Attachment III

Description: This course offers students the opportunity to study and learn new ways that may be different from what they have experienced before entering University life. The students will be attached to the following organizations for practical purposes: (a) National Sporting Organizations, (b) The Fiji Sports Council, (c) The Fiji Sports Commission, The Hospitality Industries, The Academy of Sports, Old People Homes, Various Commercial Gyms, Sporting Organization for Trainers, Security Forces, and Others, from week twelve to week fifteen of Semester 2. In the course of their practicum, the department academic staffs will be monitoring and liaising with their supervisors on their progress and provide assistance on pro rata basis. Students are to keep a record of their involvements and the activities or tests they conduct and they should be able to present a report of their projects and assessments on their program at the end of the practicum. Supervisors are to monitor and assess progress on the project. The student is to submit a written report and then deliver a seminar followed by questions and discussion. Time table of the seminar will be suggested by supervisors.

Prerequisite: N/A

Prerequisite Sentence: Successful completion of all semester one courses of Trade Diploma in Sports Science and all Certificate IV in Sports Science Units or Equivalent. Matured entry provision as in UASR.
